Phone bill shock: 0845 numbers cost Britons £714million a year

Almost one in three people have paid extra after dialling 0845 and 0844 'revenue sharing' phone numbers that allow companies to charge callers extra and pocket the profits along wot phone companies.
Companies have raked in £714million through the sneaky charge this year alone, loan firm Amigo Loans found.
Banks were banned from using the number for customer service lines earlier this year, but it can still be used for new customer lines or by non-financial firms.
It comes after research earlier this year revealed directory '118' numbers could rates cost more than £6 for a 45 second call.
Only 0800 numbers are free to call from both mobiles and landlines.
