Have you taken 1p from my account?

Before your loan is paid out, we carry out a check to see if the card details we've been provided with are active. We do this by 'ear-marking' a payment of 1p on the debit card. This holds the 1p for a brief period before releasing it.

We re-validate all card details on our system every 9 months. To ensure that the card is still valid and active, we process another 1p transaction, before releasing it again in the same way.

The time that this transaction takes to disappear, with the 1p refunded to your account, depends on how often the bank processes their cancelled and pending payments.
