It’s hard to define Amigo in a few words. But what we do know, is that at the heart of the company are our passionate, driven employees, who make us a company with a truly unique internal culture.

We’re not a new company, but our thinking is always fresh. Our story first started as a guarantor lending business in 2005, and now we proudly hold 14 years of experience that we continually use to push forward our growth. Amigo was the first direct-to-customer brand in the UK guarantor lending sector and the first standalone guarantor lender to obtain full Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) authorisation.

Our product is simple and transparent - we offer guarantor loans to customers who typically have a poor or thin credit file, with an APR of 49.9% APR. There are no other fees, early settlement penalties or any other charges. What you see is what you get. Our customers are at the forefront of our thinking, and will forever be the main driver of our business culture. Helping those who need us is what keeps us working hard and retains our focus.

We continue to evolve from an entrepreneur-led company into a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated PLC listed on the London Stock Exchange. The service we provide to our customers can be encapsulated in one very simple product, based on four pillars:

Careers Introduction

As Amigo Loans continues to evolve, our people grow with us.

The two main recruiting channels within the business are the Operations function, the customer focused DNA of the business and the Engineering/Technology function. The engine that makes the business happen. We also recruit for specialist functions - Human Resources, Marketing, IT, Credit Risk and Analytics and Finance.

Our philosophy, where possible, is to grow our own talent from within. We are big believers in opportunity, recognising potential and allowing individuals to flourish. That said, we are always interested to hear from experienced candidates who bring additional skills and expertise, see things from alternative lenses and challenge our thinking.

Growth and Development

We are passionate about developing people, and offer a wide range of learning and development opportunities including supporting professional development as appropriate.

From the very beginning, we offer an in-depth onboarding experience through our Amigo Academy to give you the best foundation for a successful start. As you progress, you will have the opportunity to access further training and development depending on your direction of travel. Middle Managers, for example, attend a Business Excellence Leadership programme – a six-month modular based programme covering topics such as Leadership Foundations, Commercial Resilience, Authenticity and Agility and Collaborative Alignment.

As well as classroom-based programmes, we have a range of digital and blended learning opportunities and as a member of the Institute of Customer Services, we continue to innovate in this area to meet individual and business requirements.
